Panasonic goes green to raise eco awareness on World Environmental Day

In conjunction with World Environment Day, Panasonic is running its ‘eco ideas’ experience road show from June 5-7 at Suntec City Tropics Atrium. I was invited to its official opening ceremony this morning.

At the ceremony, Panasonic announced its plan to promote eco awareness, eco products and eco manufacturing as well as drive down carbon emissions and gave a preview of its ‘eco ideas’ experience road show to guests and the media. The road show supports one of the three pillars of Panasonic Asia Pacific’s corporate eco declaration – ‘eco ideas’ for Everybody, Everywhere – which is to encourage the global spread of environmental activities.

Here's a video taken at the event.

Visitors to the road show can take part in interactive quizzes, see Panasonic’s latest eco solutions which are exhibited for the first time outside Japan (these include vacuum heat insulated appliances, tilted drum washing machines and energy efficient light emitters and home entertainment systems), and have the opportunity to make a personal commitment to small eco lifestyle changes that will have a big collective impact.

The Panasonic ‘eco ideas’ experience road show will head off to India, Malaysia, Thailand and other parts of the world after its run in Singapore. Go catch it if you're at Suntec this weekend. It is free.
